Endaoment’s New, Free Developer Tools Expand Opportunities for Philanthropic Growth in Crypto

By Alexis Miller of Endaoment and Drew Simon of Crypto Altruism

Endaoment, the first on-chain 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has served as the bridge connecting crypto donors with the nonprofit organizations they seek to support for more than two years. Endaoment is currently the only platform to offer smart contracts with fully composable addresses to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is in good standing with the IRS—a feature that is completely free for nonprofits. Now, Endaoment is opening its backend to make philanthropic giving as easy as possible for developers interested in adding giving capabilities into their projects.

Introducing Endaoment’s new developer tools

Three new developer tools are now available for flexible philanthropic giving integrations including a software development kit (SDK), application programming interface (API) endpoint, and queryable subgraph. These tools provide rich data and access to Endaoment’s digital rolodex of 2,600+ nonprofit Ethereum addresses and community funds, creating an easy pathway for developers to integrate infrastructure for donating crypto assets to nonprofits from within their project or protocol. Endaoment pays out nonprofits in fiat directly to their bank account so the organization does not need to engage with crypto themselves. This serves as an accessible entry point for nonprofits interested in the potential of crypto philanthropy, giving them a risk-free avenue to begin engaging with Web3.

With the release of these developer tools, opportunities for crypto giving are only limited by the imagination. Developers are able to do anything from generating contract calls for nonprofit donations, to programmatically sending NFT royalties directly to a cause without the need for direct coordination.

Impact on the crypto philanthropy ecosystem

This initiative is the epitome of Web3 - empowering collaboration over competition - and opening the door for developers to make use of Endaoment’s game changing tools for their own crypto giving projects.
— Drew Simon, Founder, Crypto Altruism

Endaoment has always been a leader in Web3 philanthropy with a focus on nonprofit adoption, giving charities around the world an opportunity to “dip their toes” into the world of Web3, explains Drew Simon, Founder of Crypto Altruism. “This initiative is the epitome of Web3 - empowering collaboration over competition - and opening the door for developers to make use of Endaoment’s game changing tools for their own crypto giving projects.”

By sharing these developer tools at no cost, Endaoment is highlighting its continued effort to lift up the industry while simultaneously making it easier to connect crypto donors with thousands of nonprofits in need, an important step in wide scale adoption.

“The future of philanthropy is cryptocurrency,” said Simon. “This is an important step in helping make that future a reality.”
