Podcast Starter Pack - Decentralized Science (DeSci)

In this podcast starter pack, we’ve bundled together four episodes focusing on collectives using the power of web3 to advance scientific research and development. This starter pack includes renowned guests in the Decentralized Science (DeSci) space including DeSci Labs, Crowdfunded Cures, Cherubs DAO, and Antidote DAO.

In Episode 66, we journey into the world of Decentralized Science, or DeSci. We welcome Erik van Winkle and Jon Starr from DeSci Labs, a decentralized scientific ecosystem using web3 to empower scientists and rebuild the backend of science. We discuss some of the current pain points being faced by scientists, how science is in a crisis, and how DeSci Labs is looking to resolve this by using web3 to rebuild the backend of science.

In Episode 61, we welcome Brian Magierski, Founder of CherubsDAO, an NFT funded and governed DAO that is using the power of web3 to advance brain health and longevity. We discuss the emerging DeSci movement, where CherubsDAO fits into it, and how web3 will revolutionize impact funding and empower a new generation of scientists.

In Episode 53, we welcome Savva Kerdemelidis and Nicholas Fiorenza from Crowd Funded Cures, a web3 project with a mission to launch a DeSci crowdfunding platform to incentivise the discovery of new uses for off-patent drugs, plant medicines, nutraceuticals and other unmonopolisable therapies without reliance on patents by using IP-NFTs, Pay-for-Success (PFS) contracts, and the issue of Public Good Medical Prize NFTs. Sound complicated? Don’t worry, they do a great job of breaking it down in this episode as we discuss the role web3 can play in funding medical research and development, IPNFTs, and the amazing potential in the DeSci movement.

In Episode 39, we welcome Niko Katsuyoshi, Founder of AntidoteDAO, a Decentralized Autonomous organization dedicated to funding cancer research and charitable initiatives. We discuss how they are looking to bring greater transparency to medical research & grantmaking, how they are raising funds via crypto and NFTs for cancer research, and the long term vision for the DAO.
