Crypto Altruism Podcast Episode 52 - Favrit & Kindred Hearts - NFTs to drive financial inclusion and social change

In this episode we welcome Johnny Utah, the Founder of Favrit, a web3 organization with a mission to financially empower under-resourced communities and causes with art, cryptocurrency, and NFTs. Favrit is driven by the collective desire to affect positive social change through financial inclusion and empowerment. In this episode, we discuss their inaugural NFT project, Kindred Hearts, and how NFTs and web3 can drive financial inclusion and social change, and build stronger communities.

Our guest, Johnny Utah, Founded Favrit in 2021 with the mission to use web3 to make the world a better place.  Johnny's professional background is in Enterprise software security, and his passion is around the Crypto and NFT markets. He led the launch of the Kindred Hearts Art Collectible project in March 2022, with plans to drive value for holders while making an impact IRL.

Five Key Takeaways

  • It’s all about the team – any web3 project, including Favrit and Kindred Hearts, is driven by a team of talented individuals, which acts as the foundation. It’s important to build out this foundation as a first step.

  • There is a lot of virtue signaling in the web3 space. It is important to seek out projects where social impact is core to the mission, and not just an after thought.

  • NFTs and crypto can help level the playing field by providing new opportunities for creators, and greater accessibility to financial services for those who have traditionally been excluded.

  • Web3 is all about community – it’s important to build a strong, unified community of support around your project.

  • Web3 projects must stay true to their North Star
